Dance

It would be one of my life’s greatest achievements if I could get more people to dance. I have witnessed people going from a mindset of ‘I don’t like to dance’, ‘Im not good at dancing’ to…’OMG THIS IS SO FUN!’

Dancing has so many benefits including:

  • Weight loss
  • Emotional release
  • Building emotional connections with others.
  • Healing through vibrations (just think about how music can lift your mood when you’re down/sad).

Wondering how to get started?

JUST MOVE! Put some music on and move! Sing. Create anything with your body. Feel alive.

When you’re ready to get out of your house/pajamas, why not look into a dance course?

Whether it be salsa, bachata, kizomba, swing, cha cha (clearly you can tell Im a latin dance fan), contemporary, ZUMBA it doesn’t matter. Find what works for you – everyone is different and that’s what makes us so wonderful.  Most cities will have the dance you are looking for.

As I meet more and more people, I find that dancing is something they have wanted to do for a long time but never got around to it or gave themselves the time to really explore it for themselves.

And then there is the more spiritual dance which I also love!

 Some recommended styles include:

  • 5 rhythms (http://www.5rhythms.com) – Started in New York by the wonderful Gabrielle Roth, this is a truly amazing, liberating experience. Google it, they usually have a teacher in most cities.
  • NIA (https://nianow.com) – what a way to let go. Again Google it, they usually have a teacher in most cities.

And remember…life begins at the edge of your comfort zone so commit to standing on the ledge!
